"Sivaji - The Boss"

Hey Amigos,

Right from my child hood I have been humbled and amazed by the acting prowess of Mr. Kamal Hassan. And I have stood for him in every argument and tiff during all these years among my friends, who although turn foe for that moment.

And it is very bizarre for a loyal Kamal Hassan fan to start of his first blog with a write up on “Sivaji- The Boss”. May one call it a timing of my blog or was it smart effort in pulling people towards my blog, this mania is really worth writing.

Well Guys, This write up is NO REVIEW as I am on of those who are yet so see this phenomenon as of today. It is just to express my views on the whole pre launch hype and events surrounding this movie.

CHANDRAMUKHI AND AFTER:

Chandramukhi was touted and greeted with great success. There are talks that in some theatre in TN, this movie is still being screened. Once a movie hits the numbers in chartbusters as Chandramukhi did, it is really tough for any actor to back it up with a better smash hit.

May be the success of Chandramukhi looked immense because of the failure of his previous film Baba. All said and done, now that the new parameters are set, it was up-to the core team of his next project that had to bring out something extraordinary from their sleeves.

TEAM SIVAJI:

Toghether Everbody Achieves More, that's exactly what it is all about. First have look at the brains that have gone behind this movie.

1. Shankar: The Captain of the Ship--> The lesser we talk it's better as his creations speaks volumes about him.

2. A R Rahman: The Second in command--> I would say, more than anybody else, he would have had the maximum pressure as his previous venture with Rajini flopped.

3. Thotta Dharani: Always overlooked --> What do i say about him, people like him are the real heroes

Did i forget someone......? Oh yeah ...of course ....Last but not the least Rajnikanth.

Not very often technicians of such class and caliber come together. However it doesn't mean that the success is guaranteed. I still remember that Real Madrid team which had Zidane, Beckham, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo & Raul, the team miserably failed. When they all formed a wall the commentator remarked as "The worlds costliest wall !! "

MEDIA-THE CATALYST

Well any Rajini movie , is a festive occasion for his fans. Hence one doesn't get to be surprised with the fans getting frenzy during his movie releases. As a matter of fact when the movie "Padikadhavan" got released the First Day First Show fans refused to come out of the theater for the next four shows!! Such is his mass appeal and the fan following that he carries not only in the country but also in parts of earth like US, Malayasia, Singapore & Japan. In fact i would say it is unparalleled in the history of Indian Cinema!

But this time it was something special. This particular Rajini film saw something that was never seen before. It was riding on top of something else apart from the huge Tsunami of Fans wave, THE MEDIA.

May be it was really a tactical move in delaying the release of the movie couple of times or was it a mere coincidence, what ever been the reality would have been, media was suddenly in the race for making a difference to this Rajini movie.

The difference between the previous movies and this one of Rajnikanth is that this movie was in media even before the release. Normally his movies hit the media once they are released and running successfully.

It was just pretty amusing for me to notice that Professional TV Channels were airing 1 hour shows on "Sivaji-The Boss". I was not the only one who was surprised by the attention , i had an companion in form of a famous actor who has direct relation with the outcome of this movie, Mr.Rajinikanth. In his rare interviews to the news channel he was quoted saying for once he was feeling nervous because of the hype that was surrounding the release of this movie.
At this juncture, where the movie has just been released and rocking the world, few questions hover around my mind:
1. Has the quality of the Media degraded so much that they make a Boeing out of an paper plane??
2. Or has the competition become so intense that they are taking desperate measures??
3. Most important of them all, How is Rajni going to back this film up?
Questions are there for you people to answer!!
Would love to see your comments!
Thanks Folks for time!!

hmmmmm....that was a good observation on the media hype. But mate....hype is their business...and if u intervene with their business you won't be having the information era that u have these days....

Now coming to the movie....I ain't an ardent fan of Mr. Rajnikanth...though I like his movies to the extent they deserve my interest. Hence, no comments about Sivaji...The Boss.

However, there are certain things that are going behind Mr. Rajni's movies especially from the time Baba was released or was spoken about..and if I am not wrong, with the era coming to its sublime conclusion, it is quite likely the media would take absolute advantage of its timelines.

One important point I liked in your blog is the observation on the silent majors behind the scene. Yes...and absolutely admirable the silent architectures behind this movie...and if this movie has got to be a blockbuster, then these silent architectures have more contribution than Mr. Rajni and the media....

Guyz...watch this movie without any pre-conceived notion...may be you would like the movie??????
